CLASSES AT WC 2018

Each class will be held in two categories:

Category 1: All four sled dog breeds

Category 2: Alaskan malamute, Samoyed and Greenland dogs only.

NOTE: Classes can change, due to not enough starters in a classe

Nome style/Sled - Sprint

  • UL- class. - Unlimited class (category 1 and 2)
  • 8-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • 6-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • 4-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • 2-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • "Junior classes are 2-dog-class"

 

Pulka style/ Skijöring

 

  • Pulka (category 1 and 2)
  • Skijöring Men 1-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • Skijöring Woman 1-dog class (category 1 and 2)
  • Skijöring 2-dog class (with no gender or dog breed) NEW FOR WC2018
  • "Junior classes Skijoring. Junior classes must run over the 2-dog-trail"

 

MID-DISTANCE

 

  • Pulka class (DS:), one (1) to four (4) dogs
  • Skijöring 1-2 dogs
    • The class will be divided by men and women whenever there are at least five (5) starters in each group.
  • D limited (DL) SLED
  • D unlimited (DU) SLED

 

The class DS will race in one categorie. The classes DL/DU will race in two categories

Category 1: All four sled dog breeds

Category 2: Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and Greenland Dog only

INTERNATIONAL WSA - RACE RULES

 

SPRINT and DISTANCE

PROLOGUE:

These racing rules are valid for all WSA and WSA sanctioned racing events.

The rules will supersede any national race rules as long as it comes to international WSA races.

In case of discrepancy between general rules and special rules, the special rule shall prevail. Any aspect of national and international animal rights must be observed and the WSA Executive Board has any and all rights to disqualify a team from an event in case said animal rights are not

observed.
